The Bosch Group throughout the world is the highest market leader for portable electrical power tools and accessories. It also has garden tools and tools for the do it yourself person. Bosch has under its umbrella the names of Skil and Dremel which add to its impressive portfolio. Bosch has a very high standard for customer care and with that it has a high level of product innovation. In 2007, about 16,000 sales associates generated sales of 3.1 billion Euros, 90% of which was generated outside of Germany.
When it comes to the production of new products, few companies can outdo Bosch. From the start of a new project development to the start of the actual production of the line, it is usually between 12 to 18 months. All sales of Bosch tools have been made within two years of inception. This powerhouse of a company introduces more than 100 new power tools into the market every year. There are five categories for which Bosch produces tools - electric garden tools, portable power tools, bench top tools, accessories and measuring tools.
One of the best sellers is the cordless tools with lithium-ion battery technology. This new tech idea was introduced by Bosch in 2003 and it was the first power tool of its sort. Bosch is also the leader in technology in the measuring tools branch of tools. For example, Bosch offers the smallest laser rangefinder with a length of 10cm. Bosch is also introducing new bench power tools such as circular saws and mitre saws. It realises its place in the tool industry and it is the leading supplier of accessories in the world.
