Stanley Tools has a worldwide reputation of being one of the best in a line of tools, hardware and hardware products for the home improvement consumer, the professional or for industrial needs. Stanley Tools entered the UK market in 1937 with an acquisition by J.A. Chapman. It was then introduced to the NYSE in 1966. From thereon in there was no stopping this tool magnate.
Stanley Tools has received many awards and accolades for various new tools and pieces of equipment. In 2007, its FatMax XL non-vibrating hammer won a new product innovation award at Interbuild, the annual exhibition for the building trade. Stanley was also voted Hand Tools Supplier of the Year by Contract Floors magazine. In addition to that, Stanley has a high ranking marketing team which was responsible for its FatMax XL launch and it won Best Copywriting for the company’s 2007 collection of press ads.
Beyond the awards, Stanley Tools is well known for its charitable work worldwide and both employees and the company itself offer support to thousands of worthwhile organisations across the world. Since the 1860s Stanley Tools has been making the iconic tools for the trade including the Power Lock Ruler, level, Fat Max and the famous Stanley knife.
At the valuable UK level, the Britool and Facom plants are assisting in making Stanley a world wide icon by innovating large tools and hard construction tools. The latest hand tool, the Functional Utility Bar, or Fubar, has created its own necessary niche. Stanley has made a name for itself in the tool industry across the world.
